Terms & Conditions

Please ensure that you read our terms and conditions before proceeding. You will be asked to accept them before being allowed to proceed with your booking.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and you should therefore check them each time you make a reservation. The terms and conditions applying to your reservation will be those in place on the date that you make your reservation.

We are not a large hotel with huge resources nor able to offer a full time reception. We are a family owned and managed Country Inn with Bed & Breakfast Accommodation.

We need to take a short break after serving customers at lunchtime and this explains why we may not be automatically available to greet you at check-in, if before 5pm. If you require check in before 5pm, please arrange this with us in advance and we will be pleased to assist.

When the Pub is closed after service at night, we go home, we are not available on site to assist you. An emergency mobile number is provided in the Guest Information folder and a copy is provided in every bedroom. Please respect the little free time we have available to sleep and only contact us out of hours only in a real emergency. Thankyou.

Bookings
You must be at least 16 years old to make a reservation.
Rooms are subject to availability and The Staff of Life has the right to refuse any booking for any good reason.
You will need to provide your credit or debit card details to secure your reservation. Guests are required to pay for accommodation to confirm their booking.
Please check that the details of your reservation are complete and accurate before you confirm your reservation. We will not be liable for any delay or non-performance if you provide us with incorrect information.
If you think that there is a mistake in your reservation or if you require any changes to a confirmed reservation, please contact us to discuss.

Check in and Check out times
Guests may usually check in after 5pm, or earlier but only if arranged with us in advance of your planned arrival. This is because we may be closed to give us a break from work after serving customers at lunchtime.
Guests will be asked to complete our booking in form upon arrival. Overseas guests will also be asked to provide their identity card / passport details. Acceptable forms of identification are a passport, driving licence, ID card or police warrant card.
On departure, guests must vacate their rooms and check out no later than 10am to allow the room to be cleaned and prepared for other guests. Failure to do so will entitle The Staff of Life to charge you for an additional night. Please remember to leave your entrance and room keys on departure.

Room Prices
The price you pay is the price quoted to you at the time you make your reservation and this includes breakfast.
Room prices are per room, per night and are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate at the time of your reservation. If the rate of VAT changes between the date of your reservation and the date of your stay, we will adjust the rate of VAT that you pay, unless you have already paid for the reservation in full before the change in the rate of VAT takes effect.
Meals and other extras are not included in the room price but you may be able to add them to your reservation during the booking process or they may be available to you during your stay. All other meals and extras must be paid for separately.
We will try to inform you of any price increase but The Staff of Life reserves the right to charge the up to date room price.
Please contact us on 01332 862479 for an up to date room price.
If the room price has increased by the time of your stay, you will be entitled to cancel your booking without charge.
The Staff of Life does not allow the selling on of rooms at an inflated price to others and in such circumstances bookings will be automatically cancelled.
The Staff of Life reserves the right to increase the price of rooms for specific dates and for special events.

Occupancy
The maximum room occupancy is two adults. Family rooms (where available) can accommodate two adults and two children (under the age of 16). You must not exceed the maximum occupancy for the room allocated to you.
Children under 16 are not permitted to stay with us unless a parent or guardian is also staying in the hotel.

Non smoking rooms
All our rooms at The Staff of Life are strictly no smoking rooms. Evidence of smoking within our premises will incur a charge of £150.

Room bookings and payments
The Staff of Life will not accept a booking without a credit/debit card payment.
All bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking, regardless of the duration of your stay.
The value of any extra’s, meals and drinks will be payable on departure.
You authorise that your card may be used to settle costs incurred throughout your stay should you leave without paying.
You authorise that your card may be used to cover costs for damage, missing items or further charges reported after your departure. Notification will be sent with details of payments taken.
We accept payments by cash or credit/debit card. We no longer accept payments by cheque.

Minimum Stay Requirement
Depending upon the date you wish to stay, you will be advised that a minimum period of stay will be required. In this event, you will be required to pay for the full value of your stay to allow us to confirm your booking.

Cancellations
If a guest cancels a booking, The Staff of Life reserves the right to apply the following cancellation charge, unless the room/rooms can be resold:

1. You do not pay us when you are required to do so; or
you break the contract between us in any way.
2. If we cancel your reservation where you are at fault, we reserve our legal rights in respect of your breach of contract.

Events outside our control
We may also cancel your reservation if an event outside of our control (including industrial action, explosion, fire, flooding, and failure of power and/or water supplies or emergency evacuation) means that we are unable to make your room available to you. In this case we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible and:
1. If you have already paid for your room, we will refund your payment to you; or
2. If you have not yet paid for your room, you will not have to make any payment to us.
